Welcome to the website of Dr. Stephen S. Yau: a celebrated researcher of computer science with an active career spanning over 50 years.

Dr. Yau has contributed to over 200 published works and served as the primary investigator for a variety of research projects, in addition to mentoring and advising over 200 graduate students. In addition to his exemplary research work, Dr. Yau has stood as the President of the IEEE Computer Society (1974-75) and the editor-in-chief of the IEEE Computer Society’s Computer Magazine (1981-84). Dr. Yau’s numerous achievements have also led to him receiving several awards, including the IEEE Computer Society’s 2002 Tsutomu Kanai Award and the Chinese Computer Federation’s 2006 Overseas Outstanding Contributions Award.
